Institute of Clinical Pharmacy

The Institute of Clinical Pharmacy was established in 1999. The main focus of our teaching activity is clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care, however, our subjects range from first aid and resuscitation to drug utilization analysis.

Our research targets drug utilization, identification of drug-related admissions and improper prescriptions, with special focuses on high risk populations (older adults, patients with chronic conditions etc.), high risk drugs (e.g. antibiotics), and high risk circumstances (polymedication, multimorbidity, acute infections etc).

Our institute employs pharmacists, some of whom also hold part-time clinical pharmacist positions. This guarantees a strong opportunity to study both population-based and patient-based data. The PhD students of the Institute of Clinical Pharmacy contribute to the teaching and research activities as well.
